Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! I love this holiday and will take any excuse to eat loads of chocolate, dress up funny and watch cartoons. Here’s some things making me smile today.

101 Halloween Corgis, I mean really. This is Harry Pawter and Luna Lovegood. Dying over here.

Have you seen this Snickers commercial? I laughed out loud when I first saw it.

One of my most favorite Halloween movies, Hocus Pocus. Have it recorded so we can watch it tonight while giving out candy.

Another favorite, haven’t seen this in ages.

Gorgeous Halloween house decorations, spotted on Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Awesome Halloween treats, like these Monster Cupcakes from Annie’s Eats.

Happy Halloween!

Now, I’m not a huge fan of the holiday (and I’m terrible at decorating for it) but I was able to find a few things that are not only functional for Halloween but could live in your pad all year round and be completely appropriate–my most favorite kind of decoration.

Bottle Stopper Skull, Urban Outfitters $12

Phantom Pillar Holder, Z Gallerie $24.95

Have a wonderfully spooky day!

Foot, meet mouth

Well, here we are again. Earlier this year I talked about how I was so not into booties only to start finding them more adorable with every pair I saw.

This time around, I was all “heeled loafers and wedge booties are awful, I’m sooo not into them.” Surprise surprise, I’m starting to feel differently about all of the above.

I don’t know if it’s that they look different to me in person or when put together with an outfit but I’m telling you, the booties/wedges/loafers I’ve been seeing around these parts are awesome–not to mention great for the office and kind of sexy.

Should have listened to my guest bloggers Julia and Karoline from day 1.

Check out these pairs while I go eat my words.

1. Me Too ‘Lisbon’ Bootie, Nordstrom $72.90

2. Max Studio Lisette, Piperlime $134.99

3. Me Too ‘London’ Pump, Nordstrom $62.90

4. Parker high-heel penny loafer, Banana Republic $128

5. Lucky Brand Norice, Piperlime $129

6. DV by Dolce Vita Pura, Piperlime $89

Just wasting time

Got a half hour to spare? Get thee to I waste so much time* and prepare to chuckle. The site is complete nonsense–50% of it hilarious and 50% of it just plain weird–and made me about 50% less productive the day I found out about it. Just a little something from me to you to help get through hump day.

Got another half hour to spare? Check out this gem (which made me cry at my computer from laughing so hard) and my personal favorite.

*A big thanks to Siobhan for showing me this site. My cubemates have loved hearing me laughing to myself on the reg and don’t think I’m the least bit crazy

**This is my favorite little graphic … more evidence of my breakfast obsession.

Painting with Light

Next week I have a photography assignment due for college called painting with light. I’m sure that you probably have seen some of these types of photos before, or have even done some, but I am finding this assignment incredibly hard.

The pictures are totally cool though, so I had to put some of them up here.

If anyone’s a pro at this type of photography (it’s all black & white film, too, so that’s been another huge challenge. I can never see how it turns out until after I develop them) I seriously welcome any help!!

Etsy + Paper Goods = Love

I could seriously sit and peruse Etsy for hours on end, especially the paper goods section. Here are some of my favorites that I picked out after going to page 105 (not even joking) of paper goods.

(From left to right)

1. Button & Music gift tags 2. Harry Potter greeting cards 3. Vintage Tea Kettle note cards 4. Aqua & White cards 5. Superior Baked Goods gift tags 6. Pink Bird thank you favors

Dear Lands’ End Canvas: Revisited

As you may or may not know, I’ve got a thing for Lands’ End Canvas. After writing a love note to their customer service team in my last post about the site, they shocked me yet again with their awesomeness and sent me some rain gear!

Please look beyond my unmade face and dirty hair at the jacket and umbrella I received in the mail last week. Rain is on the horizon for NYC this week and I don’t care one little bit because I get to pull out this gear and splash around.

Thanks again for the blog loving, Lands’ End!

See our other posts about them here and here.

P.S. I am ashamed to admit it, but after all of the time I’ve spent raving about this site I just realized today that I’ve been misplacing the apostrophe in the title of the label (I’d been previously writing it as Land’s End NOT Lands’ End). As a journalism major and former copy editor I’d like to take this opportunity to shun myself and say it will not happen again.
